> Evil is just one surface of individuality upon an indifferent universe. It exists for the same reason one can break their arm: its potential lives in the span of all things, and so it comes again and again from anything capable of thought. How the self-perpetuating systems of oppression that take root in our societies become organized, and to what level, depends on material and socio-historical factors. Evil is not destined to dominate, only to exist.
I witness creation and that it neither thinks nor feels but only permits and abides, and in that indifference, in that absence of any heart, my own will and my own being shine. What eyes it lacks gaze upon my deeds, carved in its face by potent volition. We living become as beacons, blazing in the dark, clamoring in the din. Perhaps it is only in that uncaring medium that choice can truly exist.
